Daiki Axis Indonesia Successfully Implements Johkasou STP at Hospital in East Java.

PROJECT INFORMATION

  • Category: Johkasou STP
  • Capacity: 45m3/day
  • Location: Lamongan, East Java
  • Year: 2023

Details of This Project

Daiki Axis Indonesia is the leading water treatment plant supplier in Indonesia. We successfully installed a Johkasou STP at Hospital in East Java. This project uses a system with a capacity of 45m³ per day.

The treatment process begins with the Raw Water Collector, where influent is gathered. The wastewater then flows into the Primary Sedimentation Chamber for initial solid separation. Next, it moves to the Anaerobic Chamber for biological treatment, followed by the Moving Bed Chamber to enhance microbial activity. The water then enters the Final Sedimentation Chamber for further clarification before being stored in the Treated Water Tank.

For tertiary treatment, the water passes through a Sand Vessel (sand filter) to ensure high-quality effluent. The finally treated water meets stringent standards and is repurposed for non-potable uses, such as irrigation or fountain water, contributing to sustainable water management practices.

Features of this STP Project

  • 2 BA 20 units (capacity 45 m³/day each) are used for sewage treatment in the project.
  • Raw water tank with agitation to mix sewage before treatment.
  • Modules connected in series for effective wastewater treatment.
  • Sand filters are used for tertiary treatment to further purify the water.
  • Treated water is reused as fountain water, contributing to sustainability and water conservation.

Process Flow of the STP

The Johkasou STP at the Hospital in East Java follows a systematic treatment process:

  1. Separation Box: Separate solids in wastewater by gravity and prevent the agitation of the excess sludge in Sedimentation & Separation Chamber by influent.
  2. Separation & Sedimentation Chamber: Separate solid debris or impurities from water in influent and circulated water and store these sediments in the chamber. Accumulated sludge should be desludged from the tank periodically at least once in 6–12 months.
  3. Anaerobic Chamber: It is filled with filter materials, which separate solids and keep anaerobic microorganisms to decompose organic matter.
  4. Moving Bed Chamber: It is filled with mesh cylindrical media, which retain aerobic microorganisms to decompose and remove organic matter from wastewater.
  5. Sedimentation Chamber: In order to obtain clear treated water, separate the excess sludge (suspended solids, SS) by gravity. The settled sludge is constantly returned to the sedimentation & separation chamber by the airlift pump.
  6. Disinfection Chamber: Disinfect the treated water to discharge to the river or other water bodies.

The entire system operates seamlessly, ensuring effective sewage treatment with minimal environmental impact.

Why Are Sewage Treatment Plants (STPs) Important for Indonesia?

Keeping Indonesia’s environment clean and safe is more important than ever. With a growing population and expanding industries, wastewater pollution is becoming a major problem. Household and industrial waste often flows directly into rivers, lakes, and ponds, making the water unsafe for drinking, farming, and fishing. This pollution also harms fish, plants, and entire ecosystems.

Sewage Treatment Plants (STP) help solve this issue by cleaning wastewater before it returns to nature. Without proper treatment, sewage can carry dangerous diseases like cholera and diarrhea, putting public health at risk. In crowded cities, STPs also help control bad odors, manage waste more efficiently, and reduce the chances of flooding.

As Indonesia deals with issues like heavy rainfall, flooding, and rising sea levels, STPs play a key role in protecting both people and the environment. Investing in modern wastewater treatment isn’t just about solving today’s problems—it’s about ensuring clean water and a healthier future for generations to come.

Indonesia’s Urgent Need for Wastewater Treatment Solutions

Indonesia’s rivers are the lifeline of the country, supporting farming, fishing, and transportation. However, rapid urban growth and industrial expansion have led to serious water pollution, putting these vital resources at risk.

Some rivers, like the Citarum, are so polluted that aquatic life can no longer survive, while others, such as the Brantas and Musi, are also under threat. Many of Indonesia’s waterways are now heavily contaminated due to waste dumping and poor wastewater management. If this issue isn’t addressed, the situation will only get worse.

One of the best ways to protect Indonesia’s rivers is by improving wastewater treatment. The Johkasou system is an advanced solution that ensures sewage is properly treated before entering waterways. Here’s why it’s effective:

  • Reduces pollution – By filtering out harmful substances before wastewater reaches rivers, it helps keep water sources clean.
  • Restores ecosystems – Cleaner water means healthier fish populations and a better environment for all aquatic life.
  • Meets environmental standards – The Johkasou system complies with Indonesia’s regulations, ensuring safe and efficient wastewater treatment.

Indonesia must take action now. Investing in proper sewage treatment will not only clean up polluted rivers but also improve public health and create a more sustainable future for generations to come.

A Cleaner Future Starts with Better Wastewater Treatment

Investing in wastewater treatment isn’t just about cleaning rivers—it’s about securing a healthier, more sustainable future for Indonesia. By taking action now, we can protect the country’s water resources, improve water quality, and support millions of people who rely on rivers for farming, fishing, and daily life.

At Daiki Axis Indonesia, we provide modern, eco-friendly wastewater treatment solutions tailored to your needs. Our advanced Johkasou systems ensure efficient wastewater management while helping to preserve the environment.
