Internship Program Pertamina University Student

INTRODUCING

Internship is one part of university education. This activity provides an opportunity for students to apply knowledge they have acquired in college in an industrial context. Following collaboration between PT. Daiki Axis Indonesia with PERTAMINA University, in August 2024 PT. Daiki Axis Indonesia accepted student majoring in Environmental Engineering from PERTAMINA University to joint Internship program.

STUDENT PROFILE

Devi is a 7th semester student majoring in Environmental Engineering, PERTAMINA University. She had a great interest in environmental and sustainability issues. With this spirit, Devi hopes to make a positive contribution to the environment through Internship at PT. Daiki Axis Indonesia.

PURPOSE OF INTERNSHIP

For Devi, the objectives of this practical work include:

1. Applying Theoretical Knowledge: Applying concepts learned in Environmental Engineering courses, such as waste water treatment technology
2. Getting Practical Experience: Accumulate valuable real-world experience in the wastewater treatment industry.
3. Building a Professional Network: Develop connections with industry professionals that can benefit for future career.

INTERNSHIP PROCESS.

During the internship period at PT. Daiki Axis Indonesia, Devi was involved in various activities, including:

1. Production Process Observation: Devi studied about wastewater treatment Fiber (FRP) Tank production process at PT. Daiki Axis Indonesia.
2. Training Sessions: Devi attended several training sessions on waste water treatment systems, installation and maintenance.
3. Teamwork: Devi worked in a team consisting of PT Daiki Axis Indonesia staff, where she learned about the dynamics of teamwork and the importance of collaboration in achieving a goal.

CHALLENGES FACED

During Internship, Devi also faced several challenges, including:

1. Adaptation to the work atmosphere: Devi had to adapt to a new work atmosphere, including understanding the company culture which was different from her academic environment.
2. Time Management: Managing time between Internship assignments and study activities on university.
3. Knowledge of Technology: Even though Devi has a background in environmental engineering, she needed time to understand some of the new technologies used in the water and wastewater treatment process.

SKILLS ACQUIRED

Despite facing challenges, Devi felt that this Internship was very beneficial. She acquired various new skills, including:

1. Analytical Skills: Devi became more adept at analyzing data and identifying solutions to waste management problems.
2. Effective Communication: Devi learned how to communicate well with co-workers and superiors, both orally and in writing, which is very important in a work atmosphere.
3. Project Management: Through involvement in team projects, Devi developed project management skills, including planning and organizing.

CONCLUSION

Internship experience at PT. Daiki Axis Indonesia has given Devi valuable insight into the industrial world, especially in the field of environmental management. Through this experience, Devi not only applies the knowledge she has learned but also builds a professional network that will be useful in her future career. This Internship became an important step for Devi to achieve her goals and make a positive contribution to environmental sustainability in Indonesia. With the experience and skills gained, Devi is ready to face challenges in the world of work and contribute to efforts to preserve the environment.
